51st (Graduated) Battalion

'Graduated' and 'Young Soldier' Battalions were first formed in 1917. The 51st (Graduated) Battalion of the Sherwood Foresters was formed from the 246th Graduated Battalion which had been 'turned out' by the 15th Training Reserve Battalion.
