The Great War Interviews Academics and historians present a series of short essays on aspects of the war. Very interesting.
The Great War Society Lots of interesting stuff and a very comprehensive collection of links.
Hellfire Corner Tom Morgan's award winning site. This site tell's the story of the unknown men of the war and, for that very reason, must be seen.
League of WWI Aviation Historians I confess to not knowing much about this aspect of the war but the site looks good.
The Long Long Trail Chris Baker's excellent site devoted to the British army. Full of useful factual detail and regularly updated. Hosts the world's most useful discussion forum.
Lost Generation 1418 Another very useful discussion forum witha number of helpful 'experts' on board.
Machine Gun Corps Old Comrades Association A very dedicated and helpful organisation.
Military Badges Roger and Ann Capewell's site is a treasure trove of useful stuff, and not just for the Great War period. If you want to identify a badge then you'll probably be able to do so here. It is also well worth visiting their sister site 'Military Images'.

An excellent website by the well known military historian and battlefield guide Paul Reed. The site contains an immense amount of information, particularly on the battlefields themselves.
Pro Patria Mori A new and excellent site from Bill McCormick, charting the events of 1st July 1916 at Gommecourt as experienced by the 56th (1st London) Division.
Propaganda Postcards of the Great War Amazing and ever growing site. You will browse for ages.
The Regimental Warpath Brad Chappell's superb site. Plenty of factual detail on regiments, divisions, battalions, orders of battle etc.
Salient Points A good source of information on both World Wars
Shot at Dawn A site maintaining the memory of those shot for 'cowardice', desertion etc in WWI.
War at Sea An excellent site for naval enthusiasts. Packed full of all sorts of details and regularly updated by the dedicated William Schleihauf.
